Student Lesson Policy & Orientation
What We Offer
Studio 115A offers a variety of music lessons for people of all skill levels – beginner to advanced. The students at Studio 115A cover a wide range of ages. Lessons are not just for children. Whether you are 8 or 80, we have you covered and we welcome you.
Instruction includes learning to play by ear, as well as learning music theory which includes how to read music notes and write music.
When a student signs up for lessons at Studio 115A, they receive four 30 minute lessons per month. Each student has their own customized one-on-one session with their instructor. Each lesson occurs on the same day and time each week. Lesson fees for the month are due the first week of the month at the first lesson.

Instructors

Dennis McKay
- Teaches acoustic & electric guitar, bass guitar, ukulele, mandolin, bass guitar, dobro, banjo, and harmonica.
- 45+ years playing music
- 16+ years teaching music
- Primary instruments are the acoustic & electric guitar
- Experience playing for bands of all genres – gospel, country, blues, roots/folk, big band & rock
- 2017 ICGMA Instrumentalist of the Year
- Owner of Studio 115A

Jessica Horton
- Vocal coach and piano instructor
- B.M. Degree in Music Education
- Internship experience at local schools
- Sound engineer and production experience
- 20+ years playing guitar and piano
- 4+ years teaching music to students of all ages
- 3+ years language teaching experience with children
- 2019 Sunrise Artist of the Year
- 2019 Award Winner in the Small Hall Songwriter Competition-Oxford, MS
- Performance experience in various genres of music – country, gospel, classical, jazz and music theater

Bobby Richardson
- Drum instructor
- 30+ years playing drums
- Several years experience playing for various worship bands
- Owner of New Journey Radio
- New Journey Radio Digital Magazine

John Willcutt
- Guitar & piano instructor
- 15+ years playing guitar and piano
- Lead guitar for Fairview Baptist Church orchestra
- Musical interests in writing, composition, teaching and performing
- Marketing degree from Mississippi State University

Margarita Krein
- Violin instructor
- Graduate of the prestigious Manhattan School of Music in New York City
- Started to play the violin at the age of 5 and piano at 3.
- Winner of National and International music competitions in the United States, Russia and Europe
- Received artist diplomas from Michigan State University and the School of Music in Florence, Italy.
- Performed at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, Florence Theater, Royal Academy of Music in London, Dallas Symphony and many other great halls.
- She was first violin in several symphony orchestras in Florida, including Florida Grand Opera Orchestra, Palm Beach Symphony and Symphony of the Americas.
- Margarita performed as a soloist and chamber player at many international festivals and gave concerts in Latvia, Russia, France, Italy, Germany, Estonia, Czech Republic, Israel, Sweden, Slovenia, UK and the USA.
- A big part of her career was traveling across the United States and filming music videos at the most beautiful locations like Niagara Falls and Grand Canyon, culminating in a solo concert at Carnegie Hall.
- Margarita has experience teaching both children and adults. She started teaching as a teenager, assisting her teachers, and then found students everywhere she went-New York, California, Michigan, Florida. On top of teaching others, Margarita taught her own children to play musical instruments and created a popular musical YouTube channel for them.

Programs & Activities
ANNUAL STUDENT RECITAL: In the Spring of each year, Studio 115A holds a Student Jam Session (Recital). This event is optional and features the talents of the students of Studio 115A. It is open to the public and always proves to be a great time for the students to “show off” to friends and family.
